Post Production

Now that your footage is “in the can” it’s time to put it all together and assemble your masterpiece. The editing process is where all your hard work and planning really starts to take shape. Pulling together the video, audio, music, graphics, titles and more, the post-production phase can be a very rewarding experience.

In this chapter we’ll take a look at a few editing software options that might suit your experience level and post-production needs as well as some basic editing techniques that will help you create the pace and energy your story needs. We’ll learn about:

  • Basic Editing in Panopto – Trimming the tip and tail and getting it out the door quickly in Panopto.
  • Advanced Editing – A look at a few different editing software options and some of the advanced features for putting your footage together.
  • Editing Techniques – some editing concepts to create the right pace and energy for your video production through the editing processes.
