Flexible Learning Team (FLT) Design and Development Support aims to empower faculty members to create engaging and effective learning experiences that meet the needs of today’s diverse student population. By leveraging flexible learning approaches and innovative instructional strategies, faculty can enhance student engagement, promote active learning, and improve learning outcomes in their course. Learning Technology Support

 

Learning Technology support aims to empower instructors with the knowledge and skills needed to leverage technology effectively in their teaching, ultimately enhancing student engagement, learning outcomes, and satisfaction. Want to learn more? Just email FLT@usask.ca to make a request and a specialist with the GMCTL will connect with you to provide the support you need.

Library Support

The University Library directly supports the University’s teaching and learning activities. Librarians, learning specialists, and staff offer various resources and services tailored to assist faculty, instructors, and teaching assistants in their teaching roles.

Key supports include (but are not limited to):

  • Assistance with course materials such as:
    • placing items on reserve
    • creating persistent (stable) links to course readings in Canvas
    • locating open educational resources (OER)
    • providing copyright support and review
  •  Academic support and skill development for students via:
    • research help guides and tools
    • workshops offered by learning specialists, librarians, and peer mentors
    • online, self-guided tutorials on academic integrity, critical thinking, etc.
    • the Writing Centre and Math and Stats Help Centre
  • Access to liaison librarians, who support your department, program, college, or school, by: 
    • developing custom help guides or instruction sessions for your courses to help students enhance research skills and effectively use library resources
    • highlighting existing resources to embed into Canvas
    • providing advice on research assignments and recommending course-specific resources
    • offering research consultations for students
    • supporting the development of information literacy
    • developing library collections to support your teaching areas
